Nirvana International’s Environmental Policy

Nirvana International specialises in the provision of high quality residential housing in Turkey, for the foreign investment and holiday home markets.

We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and aim to make a positive contribution to the environmental quality of the communities in which we operate.  We strive to support our developer partners to minimise any adverse impacts that their activities have. We encourage the developers we work with to comply with all relevant legislation as an absolute minimum standard and to continually improve their performance, implementing good practice on all new projects.

Objectives

This environmental policy forms a very important part of our overall company sustainability strategy. In particular, we encourage the developers we work with in the following areas:

  • Local stone and materials – we support developers in the use of local stone, timber, gravels, granite and so on from the local area, which tackles the environmental impact of transportation and its associated affects.

  • Water storage and usage – we encourage developers to consider the use of water on-site and to develop means for recycling.

  • Transportation – One of the biggest effects on the environment is transportation. Nirvana encourages developers to consider the effects and implement measures to reduce the impact of transport such as using local materials, on-site manufacturing plants and a workforce that is based 24hours on the development.

  • Carbon Footprint – We are especially concerned with the need to reduce carbon footprint and support developers keen to do the same.

Nirvana International is also committed to supporting developers in the following areas:

  • In selecting materials with regard for their environmental impacts. This includes the use of recycled materials and the re-use of salvageable materials on site wherever practicable.

  • Minimising the amount of waste produced, through effective design and on-site management.

  • Designing schemes that seek to reduce car dependency and improve the public transport infrastructure.

Nirvana aims to influence design and construction processes to ensure environmentally effective selection of materials and working methods.

Nirvana International Environmental Policy is reviewed annually and amended as appropriate.
