Turkey Property Turkey forges Chinese tourism links
Turkey hopes to welcome more visitors from China in coming years after talks between culture and tourism minister Ertugrul Gunay and China National Tourism Organization Chairman Shao Qi Wei yesterday (Monday, April 28th).
At a lunch held in honour of Mr Wei and his delegation, Mr Gunay spoke of his expectations regarding a future increase in Chinese holidaymakers, while stressing that there is scope for businessmen from the country to become involved in the Turkish tourism sector.
"We also expect charter flights to Turkey by China's National Airways especially during the tourist season," Mr Gunay told the Turkish Press.
According to reports, Mr Gunay will now attend an international tourism fair in Shanghai this November at the invitation of Mr Wei.
Chinese minister of commerce Bo Xilai headed China's economic and trade delegation to visit Turkey in June 2007.
During the same week, the Turkey-China Business Forum was held in Istanbul, attended by over 250 entrepreneurs from both countries.
