Giresun Island restored
The Black Sea island of Giresun is to be restored and promoted as a tourist destination, according to new reports.Governor Mustafa Taskesen has confirmed that a project is underway to recondition the points of interest around the island, which conclude wine deposits, archaeological remains and a monastery, the Turkish Daily News reports.Mr Taskesen emphasised the great cultural and historic value of the island and predicted it would soon be a jewel in the crown of the Turkish tourism industry.He told the newspaper: "This is a high-cost project and talks are still continuing."When...
