Turkey most popular destination for Germans
Turkey remains the most popular holiday destination for German tourists, according to the latest figures from national tour operators. Turkey and Spain were named as the most popular holiday hotspots among German travellers, the statistics from GIATA- Hoteldatenbank show. Greece and Egypt also featured in the top five destinations. Turkey experiences October visitor rise
Turkey welcomed over a quarter more foreign visitors in October than in the corresponding month a year ago, according to the latest figures from the Turkish Statistics Institute, published on Wednesday.Also, in the first 10 months of 2007, the number of visitors from overseas rose by 18.3 per cent to 21.1 million, reports the Guardian.Other data shows the income the country has gained from tourism has risen too, with a year-on-year rise of 8.6 per cent to $8.7 billion (£4.2 billion) in the third quarter.In October of last year, the Turkish Daily News reported that Turkey had the fastest...

Turkish government in 2008 tourism drive

Choir sings Turkeys praises
A musical celebration of peace and religious harmony in Turkey has been launched by an Istanbul choir. Now five years old, the choir features singers from France, Italy, Germany, Japan and Turkey, reports the Turkish Daily News. Turkey receive travel recommendation in London
Turkey has received recognition at the World Travel Awards (WTA) for being the most hardworking and innovative tourism office in Europe, it has emerged. Tourism minister Ertugrul Gunayhas collected the award at the WTA event, which was held at London's Tower hotel this week, reports the Londra Gazete.
