Ministry revamps website
Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism is revamping its website into one of the most "advanced" of any country in the world.
With the aim of bringing the government together with the private sector, a team from Haceteppe University is working on the makeover of GoTurkey.com, reports Today's Zaman.
"There is not a single website introducing and promoting a country that is as advanced as this one. We have used visual material that no other Web site has," project manager turan Mentes told the newspaper.
"Spain comes close to our system, but even they are inadequate," he added.
Available in four different languages (Turkish, English, French and German) the new look GoTurkey.com will offer video features, as well as a wealth of information on destinations around the country.
Another recent project undertaken by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was the production and distribution of a number of promotional films, intended to highlight the different areas of Turkey for the benefit of the overseas market.
