New flights to Turkey
New flights to Turkey are being launched by holiday airline Thomas Cook Airlines from Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA).
Starting from this month, services will be available from the Yorkshire airport to Turkey and a host of other holiday destinations.
Thomas Cook Airlines has made the decision to base its own aircraft at Leeds Bradford airport for the summer season, which will fly to a total of 17 destinations across Europe.
With capacity for 180 passengers, the Airbus A320 will fly to destinations in mainland Spain, the Balearics, the Canaries, Greece, Malta, Portugal, Turkey and Cyprus.
Tony Hallwood, LBIA commercial and aviation development director, stated: "We know for many customers across the Yorkshire region, flying from their regional airport is high priority when booking their holiday and we are delighted that Thomas Cook Holidays, who are one of Europe's leading tour operators, are adding to the choice of over 70 destinations on offer from Leeds Bradford International Airport."
Frank Pullman, Thomas Cook Airlines managing director, added that the company took the decision to base an aircraft at Leeds Bradford airport in response to rising demand for the flights it currently offers.
The airline is increasing its capacity at LBIA by around 20 per cent for the 2008 summer season, starting from this month.
