Sweltering Turkish temperatures may prompt public holiday
Temperatures in Turkey have reached such heights this week that the government is considering calling a national holiday.Across the country temperatures have been ten to 13 degrees higher than their seasonal norm for this time of year.Temperatures are forecast to reach 44 degrees Celsius in Aydin and 41 degrees Celsius in Izmir on Wednesday in the shade. As a result the country's ministry of health has suggested that Turkey's working population take a day off tomorrow for a prolonged mid-week siesta. Doluca, one of Turkey's oldest wine producers, has been celebrated in the Turkish Daily News.Many people may be unfamiliar with Turkey's most famous wine producer, which began in 1926 and boasts many specialities.Doluca was originally set up in Galata of Istanbul by Nihat A Kutman who imported his method of making wine from abroad.
