Over 50s urged to come to Turkey
Turkey is urging Europeans aged over 50 to move to the country as it develops more attractions to this age group. Already, Turkish Statistics Institute data show that 2,138,000 foreign tourists, mostly from the older age group, visited Turkey between January and March 2006."There is almost no-one left in Europe who is under 50. Over 160 million of its citizens are 50 and over and most of these are wealthy citizens. Turkey plans climate change action
Turkey is taking pre-emptive steps to prevent climate change affecting it in the near future.Although drought is not common in Anatolia, the government wants things to stay that way, unlike Spain, where water is in short supply in many areas, causing chronic problems.Environment minister Osman Pepe told a press conference that he was urging Turks to do something now to cut back on emissions.
