Turkey Property Turkey is major rival admits Spanish estate agent
Turkey is one of Spain's major competitors when it comes to overseas property markets attractive to Brits, one estate agent which specialises in the country has conceded.
Casas de Lorca, a business which deals with villa designs, construction and resale property has admitted that several factors make Turkey one of a group of countries which are giving Spain a run for their money as Europe's most popular foreign housing market.
The firm said in a statement: "Today, whereas the attraction and appeal of Spain remains undeniable, the cheap flights that have made more of the world affordably accessible have also introduced more affordable property markets to would-be buyers.
"Increasingly focus has moved away from so-called 'pricey Spain' to settle on the likes of the Black Sea coast in Bulgaria [and] the Mediterranean coast in Turkey."
Turkey's local market is helped by a recorded population growth of over two per cent per year, with 70 per cent of the country's residents being under the age of 30.
