Dalaman airport fuels Mugla boom
A tourism boom experienced in the southern Turkish region of Mugla over the first nine months of 2007 has been due in part to the huge numbers of overseas visitors that enter the country through Dalaman International Airport.According to the region's governor, Yufti Yigenoglu, 2,647,000 tourists came to the area during the period and 311,940 tourists entered the district from Dalaman Airport, reports the Turkish Daily News.The total sum of over 2.6 million represents a nine per cent increase from last year and it is hoped the three million barrier will be broken by the end of the year.Mugla...10-12-2007 - read more...
