Turkey is in Top Five Value Destinations
Turkey has been named in Thomas Cook's Top Five Value Destinations in 2008.
Taking into account the cost of flights, accommodation and cost of living, the travel firm placed Turkey in a list of countries which will see tourists get the most out of their money, reports the Daily Mirror.
Explaining Turkey's inclusion, the newspaper said: "Reasonably priced packages and good prices in resorts make seeing the Eastern Med cost-effective."
The new easyJet route to Dalaman, which begins this summer was also drawn attention to. Flights go from Gatwick Airport.
In a bid to see how much could be saved when booking holidays to various countries,the Mirror compared prices gained independently to those offered as packages.
It was discovered a trip to Turkey could be made for £217 cheaper than the already- reasonable asking price.
Independent financial advisor Fool recently highlighted the benefits of booking either well in advance or leaving it until the last minute.
An all-inclusive, five-star accommodation, week-long trip to Turkey was found for just over £300 on Lastminute.com.
