Ankaras parks in summer

With Turkish temperatures hotting up for summer, national newspaper Today's Zaman has been reporting on the city's many popular parks.Visitors to the capital can enjoy about 4,573,000 square metres of park land – a welcome retreat from the hot city streets, with many offering appealing attractions.The city's top parks include Altinpark, which has won an award for the best park in the eastern Mediterranean. Unique sand sculpture exhibition returns

Antalya is to host a second sand sculpture exhibition this year after last year's successful event. Sculptors from ten countries arrived over the weekend to begin carving pieces on the theme of the Arabian Nights out of 6,000 tonnes of sand brought to the area.The event takes place on the Konyaalti Beach Park resort and opens on June 20th until October 1st, with over 8,000 square metres of exhibits.Organisers of the festival, ProSandArt, have 35 artists working on giant depictions of stories such as Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp, The Adventures of Sinbad and Ali Baba and the Forty...

Istanbuls conquest re-enacted for 554th anniversary celebrations
