Water museum will open in New Year

Huge thermal tourism project planned in Izmir
A huge hotel project has been planned in the Izmir region, highlighting the tourism potential of Turkey's thermal resources.Construction firm the Doku group has will invest $40 million (£19.6 million) in a five-star thermal resort and spa centre, reports the Dogan News Agency.A medical diagnosis centre and physical therapy unit will be among the first-class facilities at the 68,000 square metre site, which will include a hotel, hundreds of apartments and 64 villas."The complex is a product of Turkish capital," said the Doku Thermal Resort & Spa Vice chief executive officer...

Russians are top winter tourists
Russians are now thought to be the top winter tourists in Turkey, according to the Turkish Hotels Federation.Estimates from the organisation predict a total of around 18,000 visitors from the country are expected in two of the most popular winter tourism destinations, Uludag and Palandoken, next year, reports the Turkish Daily News.Turkish Hotels Federation's general secretary Isik Ugurtug explained to the Anatolian News Agency that the large numbers of visitors from Russia in the resorts mean it is hard for Turkish people to stay and ski.He said: "Russian tourists may ski in Palandoken...
