Setur Antalya Marina

Setur Antalya marina is celebrated as one of Turkey's most beautiful, both for its dramatic cliff setting and the historical city it serves. 

As one of Turkey's most important resorts, Antalya attracts some 30 per cent of the country's total tourists. Located in the south-west of Turkey, it nestles between the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and Taurus Mountains which tower up to 3,086 metres above sea level. The city's many beautiful historical sites are close to the port and comprise some stunning views.

Visitors to the Setur Antalya Marina will find it located to the north-east of Antalya Bay, near to the commercial port but far from the bustle of cargo ships (about 5.75 miles, or five nautical miles away). It is operated by Setur, a Turkish company who own a chain of eight marinas that are maintained to a world-class standard.

All of Setur's ports have achieved the prestigious blue flag accreditation which is awarded according to strict criteria. These include having to offer a minimum of three environmental educational activities to users and staff of the marina, keeping litter bins tidy and offer recycling facilities and have facilities for disabled people. The must also be visibly clean with no oil, litter, sewage or other evidence of pollution. Setur Antalya Marina is one of Turkey's 14 blue flag marinas.

The Setur Antalya Marina provides a variety of services from the commonplace to the luxury. It is well sheltered as it uses the breakwaters of the commercial harbour. There is capacity for 200 boats.

For basic necessities it has two toilet and shower blocks, floating docks, electricity and water at berth. Internet access is available, as is a facility to receive mail and telephone hook-ups to the boat.

For your leisure time there is a tennis court, swimming platform and an excellent restaurant and bar with an attractive maritime lounge. This is a good spot to sample some freshly caught fish – one of Antalya's specialities.

A yacht maintenance yard is situated within the marina with contractors located on the premises. Any work done may cost a little extra as the marina takes some commission. There is a fuel dock, a haul out facility with two travel lifts (60 and 200 tonnes), a hardstand area and a 350 tonnes sledge. Storage lockers for offloading unnecessary boat items and sails are also available.

A great advantage of the marina is its proximity to the city. It's only ten kilometres or a short 20 minute bus journey away, with a bus stop just outside of the marina gates. This makes it ideal for visiting Antalya's city centre with its many cultural attractions. Highly recommended is the annual Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival. This year is the 14th festival which will take place in several cities including Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya between June 7th and July 16th.

And if the city itself is not enough, it's worth taking advantage of the many boat trips or diving expeditions that start at Setur Antalya Marina. The sea around Antalya is rich with underwater reefs and caves to explore and is reputed to have some of the best preserved ruins in the Mediterranean.
