The Carya Golf Club

The much-anticipated Carya Golf Club will open in November 2008.  It is along the stretch of Mediterranean Coast, from Antalya to Alanya, known as the Turkish Riviera.  An area of stunning natural beauty famed for its world-class golf in Turkey.  Indeed Belek is set to rival the Algarve and the Costa del Sol as a golfing destination. Turkey property is becoming very popular with golf lovers in this location.

The par 72, 7200+ yards Championship Course is nestled within spectacular dunes and a glorious pine forest. The facilities will include excellent practice facilities as well as a 200 bed hotel with 45 detached golf fronted villas.

Thomson Perrett & Lobb, the international golf course architecture practice founded by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson, with partners Ross Perrett and Tim Lobb, is to create the course, which will be a classic, heath land style course. The 96-hectare site is just 200 meters from a beach. It will be the region’s first heath land golf course.

Peter Thomson said of Carya Golf Club: “This is an exceptional piece of land on which to build a golf course. It is reminiscent of the famous Surrey heathland courses near London that I rate among the world’s best and which I was fortunate to enjoy much success on in my playing days. So I am very excited about the prospect of TPL creating a classic, traditional style course in Turkey.”

The sandy terrain will enable the course to be constructed with minimal disruption to the environment.

Belek, part of the Antalya region, is surrounded by antique cities, turquoise sea, the Taurus Mountains and lush green landscapes. Belek can boast of long sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and international size golf courses. Along with golf in Turkey, Belek provides visitors with much to do both on and off the golf course!
