Belek's natural beauty was discovered in 1984 and the region was proclaimed as "Belek Tourism Centre". In later years, Belek became what it is today, a paradise on earth, thanks to cooperation between the Belek Tourism Investors Association and the Tourism Ministry.

Belek, the new face of Turkish tourism, is a golf oasis set amidst the magnificent golden beaches of the Mediterranean Sea and mountain covered forests of Turkish Riviera. A true holiday and property paradise, the area-surrounding Belek boasts some of the best golf courses in Europe.

The region has 33 four or five-stars hotels and first-class holiday villages and eight golf courses. All of the facilities that have been designed first-class provide an ideal atmosphere for families and meticulously offer many opportunities and services aimed at pleasing their guests. All the facilities offer tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, completely equipped health and fitness centres, play areas, bars, restaurants and many more possibilities.

In planning the Belek courses, the architects took into special account the wishes and expectations of all levels of golfers. All area courses present a beautiful backdrop of eucalyptus and pine trees, snow capped Taurus Mountains, and abundance of natural lakes, all the while providing golfers with a challenging, yet enjoyable, golf experience. And, with over 300 days of sun shine annually, golfers are able to play throughout the year.

Recently the Ministry of Tourism announced new land allocations for 5 new hotels & 5 new international golf clubs to be completed in two years' time. Additionally a Congress Tourism Complex & a Health Tourism Complex will be within the content of this announcement.

With a history that includes Marco Polo, St. Paul and the rulers from the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods, Belek offers an interesting atmosphere for tourist and residents alike. The architecture, archaeological sites, museums and bazaars offer fascinating areas of interest.

Besides the ancient cities, there are waterfalls and caverns, ski centre and many other natural sites waiting to greet the visitors. Those looking for a more contemporary scene may sample some of Turkey's finest cuisine and enjoy open-air discos for evening entertainment.
